Contract manufacturing
A defined product. A considered production plan.
When you have a product specification, the next challenge is translating it into a manufacturable order. Aayuritz works with brands and business buyers to define the production scope for Ayurvedic and nutraceutical products. The starting point is clear: what must be made, which requirements apply, and who is responsible for each part of the order.
Bring the specification into focus
Share your formula, product specification, reference sample or existing production requirements. The discussion should cover ingredient identity, quantities, dosage format, physical characteristics, packaging and the intended market. Where information is incomplete, those gaps need resolving before a commercial specification can be approved. A product name alone rarely provides enough detail for dependable manufacturing or pricing.
Define the material and manufacturing scope
Every contract manufacturing arrangement needs a clear allocation of responsibilities. Tell us whether you require a complete supply proposal or wish to discuss buyer-supplied materials or packaging. The accepted model, material acceptance criteria and responsibilities are confirmed for the project.
- Raw material sourcing and buyer-supplied material requirements
- Manufacturing format, batch quantity and packing configuration
- Agreed sampling, testing and documentation
- Artwork approval, finished goods release and dispatch requirements
Build approvals into the schedule
Before production, the working specification and commercial terms should be settled. Samples or trials may be included where the product requires them. Changes after approval can affect cost, material requirements and timing, so the process should identify what has changed and which approvals must be repeated. This is particularly important when a brand is transferring an existing product.
Keep documentation tied to the actual order
Discuss the documents your team requires before placing the order, including the agreed specification and relevant batch documentation. Testing should be defined by named parameters and agreed requirements. A general request for a quality certificate is less useful than a clear list of the information the buyer needs to assess and accept the product.
Aayuritz holds FSSC 22000, GMP, HACCP and Halal certifications, alongside FSSAI, FDCA and AYUSH licences. Our organic credentials include India NPOP, USDA NOP and EU Organic. Confirm the applicable licence, certificate scope and product coverage as part of your manufacturing brief.
Plan beyond the first batch
Repeat production is easier to plan when the approved formula, pack and artwork version are kept consistent. Share demand forecasts, expected reorder intervals and any seasonal peaks. This helps frame a realistic discussion about procurement and scheduling, without treating forecast dates as guaranteed dispatch commitments.
Useful answers
Before we begin.
Can you manufacture using our existing formula?
Share the formula and technical requirements for review. Manufacturing feasibility, ingredient suitability, development needs and the project scope must be assessed before acceptance.
Can we provide our own raw materials?
Buyer-supplied materials can be discussed as part of the proposed manufacturing model. Acceptance, required documents, incoming checks, material losses and responsibility for unused stock must be agreed first.
What happens if our specification changes?
The impact on the formula, materials, testing, cost and schedule should be reviewed. Production should proceed against an approved version so that both teams are working to the same requirements.
Can you quote from a competitor product label?
A label can help explain the concept, but it may not disclose the full formula, manufacturing process or specification. An equivalent-looking label does not establish technical equivalence. Additional development or clarification may be required.
What determines production lead time?
Lead time depends on the agreed product, quantity, ingredient and packaging availability, approval status and production schedule. Confirm the basis of the quoted lead time and its starting point before planning a launch.
